Superintendent's Message

Superintendent's Message for 2020-2021 School Year
Be A Champion

Grove Public Schools Students, Staff, Parents and Community Members

  • Our commitment in the Grove School District is to provide a safe, positive, intellectual learning environment that will empower students to become creative problem solvers, critical thinkers, and inspired learners prepared for life in the twenty-first century. We will not waiver on this commitment, even during the current COVID-19 emergency status. We have made numerous adjustments to our delivered curriculum to address losses from the spring closure. We have also made arrangements to offer virtual and distance learning options for school away from school. Students attending school on campus will experience a sanitized, safe, and positive learning environment. Students will be expected to social distance whenever possible and wear a mask to protect their fellow classmates and teachers.

As Superintendent of Grove School District, I would like to continue setting high expectations for our students in regards to academic performance within the classroom, participation in extracurricular activities as well as responsible citizenship at school and in the community. I am asking each student to make a commitment to take ownership in their individual learning experience and act responsibly as an individual within our learning community.  Doing so will enable all to have a safe, successful and enjoyable school year.

As this is my third year as your Superintendent, I am committed to staying the course we have set for ourselves and continue to provide stability as we change and grow as a District in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic. My overarching focus this year is “Relationships Matter.” Our students and staff have been absent from one another for several months. Reconnecting and providing a safe and welcoming school is vital to the emotional well being of both our students and staff.

Parents are an integral part of our school community. We recognize that parents are our students’ first teachers, and as such need to be a critical part of our educational team. This strong partnership with parents and the community benefits all of our students. This is especially important given the likelihood of intermittent school closures expected during this 2020-2021 school year. Our goal is to have uninterrupted  learning regardless of where our students have to learn from. I firmly believe that together we can build a strong educational foundation for every student no matter what the learning location happens to be.

I encourage you to explore our District web page ( throughout the year to learn more about our school district.  Our web page offers you the opportunity to learn about new events and access the individual links to gain knowledge of our facilities, staff, programs, curriculum, activities, schedules,  and other informative topics. Please be aware that if concerns arise at any time, you may contact your child’s teacher or Principal by emailing or calling the Main Office at each of our schools. If you need additional assistance do not hesitate to email ( or call me at 918-786-3003.

Once again, welcome to Grove Public Schools!  I am honored to serve as Superintendent of Schools.

    Warm regards, Pat Dodson
